Mbps to MB/s Converter
Convert your internet speed (Megabits per second) into actual download speed (Megabytes per second). A vital tool for understanding your true data transfer rates.

Wait, aren't they the same?
No! The difference between a lowercase 'b' (bit) and an uppercase 'B' (Byte) is the biggest marketing trick in internet speed.
- 1 Byte = 8 bits
- ISPs sell you speed in Mbps (Megabits) so the number looks 8x larger.
- Your computer downloads files in MB/s (Megabytes).
The Formula
It is a simple mathematical ratio. To find file transfer speed, you divide the internet speed by 8. To go the other way, you multiply by 8.
MB/s = Mbps ÷ 8 Mbps = MB/s × 8
